North Carolina Highway 343 is a north/south state highway in coastal North Carolina; it is entirely in Camden County.
NC 343. The highway's northern terminus is at the intersection of US 17 just north of South Mills, North Carolina. NC 343 travels southeasternward paralleling the Pasquotank River to its west. It intersects US 158 in Camden, the county seat of Camden County. Continuing southeasternward, it passes through the small village of Shiloh, North Carolina before terminating in the village of Old Trap, North Carolina.
The highway's northern stretch between US 17 in South Mills and US 158 in Camden is frequently used in the summer months as an alternative route to congested NC 168/US 158 by Outer Banks-bound travelers from the Hampton Roads metro area of Virginia.
